There's a new bar in Puerto Pollensa called Funky Town.
It's open from 8pm to 2am and has good music and a good atmosphere.
It's located close to Hotel Pollensa Park across from Ikebana restaurant. C/ de les Caderneres, s/n.

We are coming to stay near Pollenca for a week very soon.
 
Can anyone recommend any other typical Mallorquian restaurants in the Town other than La Taberna del Temple and La Fonda and Clivia which we like very much and have visited them on previous visits.
 
Further afield has anyone any views on the "Lamb Restaurant " called Es Verger at Alaro as we are thinking of having a trip out one day and saw this on a Rick Stein Cookery programme.

I know this is a pollensa site, but I'm sure you know what is going on in csv!!We were there two years ago staying at the dreaded Simar. When having a drink in the bar mallorca we noticed that the Mayol was closed. We were told that the old lady who owned it didn't leave it to her two sons who had been running it but to her grandson who promptly closed it.Have you heard this and is it likely to reopen?The local gossip was that it had been bought by Neckermans but that was only a rumour.

Our resort reports have brought a response regarding Cala San Vicente. Below we reproduce that response, which makes a strong case for the Cala.

“Have read your report on CSV and would like to make a couple of comments. There are a couple of restaurants that we think are very good. On the Molins beach area is L’Alba owned by Dolores or Lolly as she is known. The food is very good and she always makes everyone very welcome. There is now a Balaixa restaurant which used to be La Tasca and the Hotel Cala San Vicente has a good pizzeria. Re the lack of shops personally we don’t see the need when on holiday. There is a small supermarket if you are self-catering. Other than that Pollensa is only a bus ride away. People keep returning to CSV because there is no nightlife!! It’s a peaceful place and long may it last!! Worse thing that happened to CSV was the hotel Don Pedro going all inclusive, local bars have lost a lot of custom. There are various categories of forum for each of Alcudia, Pollensa and Ca'n Picafort. There are forums for each of Alcudia, Pollensa and Ca'n Picafort which relate to our three main sites: www.thealcudiaguide.com, www.thepollensaguide.com and www.canpicafortguide.com. Don't forget there are two other sites - the blogs www.alcudiapollensa.blogspot.com (news, opinions, rants) and www.wotzupnorth.blogspot.com (for what's going on). These are both linked on each of the sites (Blog and What's On). Think that explains it, I hope.
